U.S. Army Fort Campbell Day with beautiful October weather! The Class of 2023 were guests of the Ft Campbell Community Relations Director Suzy Yates and the combined command teams of our local installation. SFC Cooper and Sgt Morton led us around all day starting at the EagleWerx Soldier Innovation Center before some range time at the Engagement Skills Trainer. As usual, the class got the opportunity to RAPPEL at the The Sabalauski Air Assault School and tour the Don F. Pratt Museum-101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) for some history. Lunch was served at the SON CAFE Dining Facility before an informative briefing from the Division Command Team regarding Eastern Europe and garrison activities at home. Our last stop was with the 160th SOAR Special Operations Aviation Regiment which certainly did not disappoint. The visit started by learning how the 160th makes sure their aviators come home but continues to honor the 99 Nightstalkers who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The day ended with a briefing on the Regiment’s EXFIL program for Soldiers transitioning out of service to start the next chapter of their life.
Special thanks to Doug Heimbeck ’14 for his diligent planning of our October program title sponsored by Fortera Credit Union (formerly Ft Campbell Credit Union). We truly learned a lot about our neighbor and community member to the north. We are fortunate indeed to be the home of the Screaming Eagles and Nightstalkers…
