Volunteers Needed!

Leadership Clarksville Alumni,

We are proud to announce that our organization is taking the steps necessary to become more than Leaders. Our Community Service Committee will be providing our alumni the opportunity each month to make a difference. Our mission is to facilitate involvement in philanthropic events that will increase visibility of Leadership Clarksville throughout the community and strengthen alumni relations. This committee will not facilitate fundraising events. We will pursue events that need involvement/participation as opposed to money. We are currently looking into finding a sponsor that will cover the cost of shirts for any alumni that will be participating in the events. We want people to see the shirts and immediately recognize that Leadership Clarksville is helping make Clarksville a better place. See opportunities below:

Volunteers for Splash Pad for April 5th-9th @ Heritage Park
April 5th – 8th: Rotarians will need as many people as possible at the site to build the playground structure and set all posts into concrete. They hope to have 8-10 National Guard personnel helping us during this phase of the project. Our goal is to have 8-10 or more working at the site every day to complete this construction phase. We will be working 8 to dark every day, so if someone can only work after lunch or after work that will still be a big help.
April 9th:   The day that we can invite everyone to work including the youth to spread the rubberized mulch in all areas needed. On this day everyone will need to park at Kenwood and walk the greenway path to the site. Soccer is in full swing on every field by this date and parking for everyone will be tight. Rotarians will need at least 30-50 people on this day to get this mulch spread around all the area. We can separate this day into two shifts if we need to an 8-12 and 12-dark.

Volunteers for Brandon Hills Community Garden for April 22
This project is a collaborative effort among Montgomery County Government, Clarksville Academy, The Food Initiative, United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region and the Montgomery County/TSU Extension office. It remains on-going and will require two more installments:  April 22nd . So there is plenty of time left for you to become a part of this community effort to help provide a sustainable food source for low-income residents and foster educational opportunities as well.
